Roxanne can give private music lessons to all ages in either voice, piano, guitar, and ukulele at her private music studio located in Downtown Richmond.
My rates are $35 for 30 minutes and $50 for an hour.
The trial lesson is free, but if you decide to continue lessons after meeting with me, only then do I ask for a commitment of a package of lessons (5).
At my school, we require you to purchase a package for these reasons:
-It weeds out the less serious students who only wish to take one lesson and who are hesitant to commit.
-My time is valuable (I have 4+ years of experience teaching music privately to adults and children) and I will only accept students who are committed to learning and understand that learning an instrument is not something you can learn in just a few lessons - it takes a prolonged period of personal practice along with guidance from an instructor in order to become even somewhat proficient.
My cancellation policy is as follows: if you have a scheduled lesson and for whatever reason you are unable to make it, you must give me at least 24 hours notice to reschedule. I have to be very strict about this - unless it's an emergency, I can not offer you a reschedule time for that particular lesson credit if you do not give me 24 hours notice.
How To Prepare for Your First Lesson
If you already have the instrument you're interested in learning, then bring it! You will need to bring your instrument for every lesson (excluding piano - I have ones we can use in the studio). I will also recommend the purchase of a method book to you as well as other tools you may need depending on the instrument you are interested in learning (i.e. a tuner, metronome, capo) so you should bring those along for each lesson, as well. It's also okay to show up to your trial lesson empty handed if you haven't bought your instrument yet - I have equipment we can use for the time being.
